Obituary for James Peter "Pete" Shreve

James Peter “Pete” Shreve, age 77, of Bear Lake, passed away at home on July 18, 2017.
Pete was born November 22, 1939 in Bear Lake, the son of the late Donald Harrison Shreve and Francis Hannah (Kingscott) Shreve. He attended Bear Lake High School and was a veteran of the US Army. On September 4, 1990, he married Robin Ann (Hebrard) Howard in Manistee, MI. Pete was employed as a plumber with Edwards Plumbing & Heating. He enjoyed making maple syrup, having a large garden, fishing on Lake Michigan and snowmobiling when his kids were younger.
Pete is survived by his wife Robin of Bear Lake, his children; Michael Shreve of Tacoma, WA, Jeri (Craig) Llold of Moscow Mills, MI, Kelly (Eric) Whitman of Evart, MI and Brian (Melinda) Howard of Pinconning, MI, brothers; Donald (Dorothy) Shreve of Bear Lake and Anthony Shreve of Midland, MI, sisters; Suzanne (Dale) Henning of Green Valley, AZ, Rosalie (Dave) Wagner of Phoenix, AZ and Anneke (John) Larrance of Canton, NY, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his niece Julie Henning.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Pete’s name be made to their local animal shelter. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dale, Wanda and Jerimiah McQuillin.
