Obituary for James Franklin "Jim" Stark

James Franklin Stark, 81, of N. Stiles Rd in Ludington, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at North Ottawa Hospital in Grand Haven.

Jim was born on November 30, 1035 in Ludington, son of John and Fannie (Ames) Stark. He attended school and graduated from Ludington High School in 1954.

Jim was married to Irene Vitucki at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Scottville. He worked for many years on the C & O car ferry in Ludington before going to work as a draftsman-designer at Carrom Industries for four years. He later returned to work at C & O and retired as CSX Railroad engineer in 1997. Jim had a love for fishing and hunting and enjoyed building squirrel houses.

Jim is survived by his wife, Irene Stark; son, Jim (Carrie) Stark of Reno NV; daughters, Jody (Jonathan) Wolff ow West Olive, and Anna Marie (Lindon) Johnson of Custer; grandchildren, Kody Stark, Alexa, Kenza and Tanner Wolff, Garvin and Casey Johnson; and brother, Ronald Stark of FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Elmire Peterson, Evelyn Romlia Seymour, Georgia Parsons, and Marjorie Hansen; and a brother, Lawrence Stark.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. Please share your fond memories or a photo of Jim at www.oakgrovefh.com.
