Arthur E. Moberg, 100, of Ludington, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Tendercare of Ludington.
Art was born on January 21, 1917 in Victory Township, son of the late William and Emma (Olson) Moberg. Art was baptized in 1917 in Ludington. He attended the Victory Banner School and graduated from Ludington High School in 1935. Art was a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Art was wed to Mildred June Striker on January 24, 1945. Together, they enjoyed traveling and camping in their travel trailer and bicycle riding. Art also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and ice skating.
Art worked on the family farm, at Stokley’s in Scottville, Handy Things in Ludington, and retired from Dow Chemical after 27 years of service.
Art is survived by his children, Gary (Kathy Erzen) Moberg and Pam Petersen both of Ludington; grandson, Issac Moberg; great grandchildren, Ashleigh and Kelly O’Brien, and Kylie Olson; and niece, Marilyn Lague.
Art is preceded in death by his parents and his wife; daughter, Karen Moberg; brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Mildred) Moberg; sister, Esther Moberg; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred (Archie) Walters; brother, Oscar; son-in-law, Craig Petersen; niece, Susan Raider; nephew, Carl Walters; and special friend, Marguerite Andersen; daughter in-law; Kelly Moberg.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church with Father Mick Shriver officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place on the spring at North Victory Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington.
