Obituary for Robert Glenn Grice

Robert Glenn  Grice
Robert Glenn Grice, age 92 of Ludington, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2017 at Ludington Woods Living Center in Ludington.
He was born on February 1, 1924, in Grand Rapids, son of the late Charles R. and Rosa (Brook) Grice. He attended South High School in Grand Rapids, and graduated with the class of 1942. He then attended Michigan State University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree.
Robert enlisted in the Marine/Air Corps in 1942 where he served until his honorable discharge in 1945. He served in Marine Bombing Squadron VMB-613, which flew on plane PBJ-1H(B-25).
Robert married Lois Evelyn Marcroft on May 27, 1948 in Grand Rapids. She preceded him in death in 1987. He worked his entire life for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in the marketing department and retired as a Marketing Manager.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ludington and was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
Robert is survived by his 2 sons, Robert R. Grice of Traverse City and Ronald (Helen) Grice of Cheboygan; daughter, Catherine Blanchard of Reed City; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; 6 sisters, Rosabel Slagle, Agnes Fredenberg, Florence Cline, Lillian Schripsema, Mildred Anderson and Eva VanStrien; brother, Charles Grice.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Final interment will take place at Talmadge Township Cemetery in Lamont, MI. Memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be directed to COVE in Ludington. Please feel free to share a memory or photo with the family at www.oakgrovefh.com.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Ludington.
